Yesterday, a couple came in before closing, celebrating their 20th anniversary.
I asked them why they’ve managed to be together for so long, when so many others have long given up.
“It’s taken working like hell to keep things going. It’s never as easy as these kids think it will be. All good things require work.”
I’m just going to leave this here, because the trueness of that statement applies not only to marriage, but it also applies to faith, love, art, being a good Orthodox Christian gentleman (well, a gentleman in general), heck, even being a good person. It all requires work, and you can’t expect it to magically fix everything.
The more you know!
